Edtech start-up Safalta has roped in cricketer Virendra Sehwag as its goodwill ambassador and released a promotional video starring the former team India opening batsman with an aim to make quality education affordable, accessible and accountable by spreading awareness, the company said in a statement.

Sehwag has been noted as an education entrepreneur with his chain of schools. He is also known for raising the conversation on affordable and accessible education.

Speaking about his ambassadorship, the cricketer said, “Being an educator, I can understand the significance of quality teachers and the need to provide accessible education to the masses. I must appreciate the commitment of Safalta and their team for providing courses at unbeatably affordable prices without compromising on the quality. Kudos to team Safalta for their commitment and drive and their courses that make students job-ready and successful.”

Safalta offers online classes for school students, competitive exam candidates and jobseekers. Its core area of focus, however, is preparing students from rural and semi-urban areas for competitive exams and making them employable.

Safalta uses a multi-pronged approach when offering soft skill programmes, coaching for Classes IX-XII, preparatory courses for competitive examinations and upskilling & vocational courses. Enrolled learners get complete lifetime access to study material which is downloadable. The material can be accessed even with low internet bandwidth, the edtech firm said in its statement.

Classes by experienced educators are offered in both English and Hindi. Candidates also get guidance in the form of career counselling by professionals.
