78.84 per cent of girls passed and 69.07 per cent of boys passed Class X exam
Helicopter ride for toppers to be organised by Chhattisgarh government
The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education Class X and XII examination results have been announced.
The total pass percentage is 79.30 per cent for the Class XII exams and 74.23 per cent for the Class X exams.
Girls fared better in the exams, Chhattisgarh school education minister Premsai Singh Tekam said.
“In the Class XII exams, girls recorded a pass percentage of 81.15 per cent, while 77.03 per cent of boys have passed. In the Class X exams, 78.84 per cent of girls passed. The figure for boys stood at 69.07 per cent,” Tekam said.
A total of 3,75,694 regular students registered for the CGBSE High School Certificate Examination (Class X) and 3,63,301 students appeared for the exams.
“A total of 2,92,611 students registered for CGBSE Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination *Class XII this year, but only 2,87,673 students, comprising 1,29,213 boys and 1,58,460 girls, appeared,” he said, adding that the results of 2,87,485 students were declared, of which 2,27,991 (79.30 pc) passed.
Twenty-two students made it to the Class XII merit list, 13 of them girls. Out of 71 students in the merit list for the Class X exams, 52 are girls..
In the Class X exam, Suman
Patel of Mona Modern HS School Baramkela, Raigarh, and Sonali Bala of Government HS School Gundamhur in Kanker district topped the Class X exams with 98.67 per cent. Six students bagged the second position with 98.17 per cent and four students secured the third position with 98 per cent.
Kunti Sao of Adarsh Gramya Bharati HS School Pussore in Raigarh topped the Class XII exam with 98.20 per cent, followed by Khushboo Wadhwani of St Joseph Convent English Medium HS School in Bilaspur with 96.4 per cent and Renuka Chandra of Sanskar Eng Med HS School Jami Jaipur, Janjgir-Champa, with 95.8 per cent.
Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel congratulated the students.
Baghel had earlier announced that meritorious examinees will be rewarded with a helicopter ride.
District-wise toppers in both the board examinations will also be rewarded with a chopper ride by the state government.
