CBSE inks MoU with ISTM; To conduct two-day ToT certification course for teachers

In a significant step towards empowering the teachers at its affiliated schools as per the recommendations of the NEP 2020, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM) under the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Govt of India for conducting a 2-Days Training of Trainers (ToT) Certification Course. The training will be provided free of cost to the teachers.

The NEP 2020 has recommended a mandatory 50 hours of continuous professional development training for all teachers and head teachers. The ISTM is known for its expertise in imparting core training skills which involves Direct Trainers Skills (DTS) and Design of Training (DoT).

This Course has been designed amalgamating the core components of the DTS and DoT and the Integrated Approaches to Child & Adolescent Development. The pilot programme of the curriculum was launched on Friday, August 23, 2024 in New Delhi by Shri Rahul Singh, Chairman, CBSE.

Singh emphasized on the need to empower schools in transition towards new-age learning mechanisms that closely reflect the future of work. The board has taken up the initiative to realize the vision to make India a developed nation by 2047 and to improve the quality of education.

On successful completion of the course, the participants will be awarded a certificate jointly signed by CBSE and ISTM. This course will equip the experts with the techniques and training skills required for effective training. It is being organized in different cities to ensure access and participation at the all India level.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Himanshu Gupta, Secretary, CBSE highlighted the importance of continuous professional development as mentioned in the National Education Policy 2020 and called upon all to take advantage of this trainers’ certification course. The Director, ISTM, Shri Rajiv Manjhi also addressed the gathering and shared valuable viewpoints on the subject.
