Bihar has partnered with live tutoring app Filo to offer 24x7 access to its platform to over 45 lakh students of classes IX to XII enrolled in 9,000 government schools across the state.
State education minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary inaugurated the app recently in presence of senior officials of the
Bihar government.
"We are proud to be the
first state government to offer live instant tutoring support to our students.
I wholeheartedly congratulate the founders of Filo to come up with such a
platform whose aim is to help the students in their learning progression and
offer spot solutions 24/7. Filo is true to the meaning of its name where the
mission of the app is to handhold students in their after-school learning and
help them solve their learning problems just like a friend does in our normal
lives," said Choudhary.
The initiative will come at no cost to over 45 lakh students who will now have immediate access to professional tutors on the platform for one-on-one personalised learning.
Filo offers ‘instant-live
tutoring’ platform that connects students with top tutors with subject
expertise in less than 60 seconds from across the country. On the app, students
get 24x7 exclusive access to live, 1-1, video learning sessions personalised
from day one, at the click of a button. The app has been developed by a team of
former IIT-ians.
Imbesat Ahmad, co-founder, Filo, said, “As someone who hails from the state and has done his schooling from Patna, I am thrilled to be able to create a product that can enable high quality 1:1 learning at scale for students from Bihar. Having been a teacher who has helped thousands realise their goals, I can say with confidence that post classroom personalised tutoring can create a massive difference in students’ performance. In the USA, this is a tried and tested model and districts like San Francisco, Florida, Chicago and Los Angeles have been offering such support for a while now. It gives me immense pleasure that Bihar has become the first state in India to implement this with much advanced technology.”
