Assam Government PG Scholarship Programme: Applications ongoing! Check eligibility

The Assam Government has invited applications for Post Graduate Research Scholarship 2023 from students who fulfil all eligibility conditions. The applications have been invited by the Assam Directorate of Higher Education and candidates will be able to apply on the official website at dhe-operations.assam.gov.in.

The application for the scholarship begins from Novemer 21 and will continue till December 5.

Eligibility for applying for the PG Scholarship programme

In order to be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate have a good academic record and should have passed the last qualifying exam with at least 55 per cent marks.

Here it is to be noted that the candidate applying for the exam must be a resident of Assam.

Those students, who are pursuing LLM, MPhil, PhD, postdoctoral research in any recognised university for the session 2023-24 are also eligible.

Amount of money students will receive as scholarship

Students pursuing PhD will receive Rs 1,000 per month while students pursuing MPhil will receive Rs 700 per month.

PG LLM students, on the other hand, will receive Rs 500 per month as scholarship.

Selection of candidates

The candidates will be selected for the scholarship programme only on the basis of merit and budget allocation.

How to apply for the scholarship?

In order to apply for the scholarship, a candidate must have the certification from the head of the institute or from the research guide.

The forms would be verified by the principals of the colleges or universities and the hard copy has to be sent to the Directorate of Higher Education, Assam.

The last date for submission of hard copy of the application form to the Higher Education department is on December 11.

Candidates should also submit the final mark sheet of their last qualifying examinations along with a photograph and signature of the candidate. The copy of the Aadhaar card should also be submitted along with the application form.
