Shri Shikshayatan School’s ‘Jubilare 2024’ Captivates Unforgettable Festivities and Celebrates Resilience

Jubilare 2024, hosted by Shri Shikshayatan School, Kolkata, held on May 3 and May 4, was a grand celebration filled with excitement and joy. The theme, "Resilience - Walk on the Waves, Befriend the Sky," set the tone for the event, emphasising the importance of perseverance and adaptability. The event was hosted by talented students from classes XI and XII, who ensured the proceedings were both engaging and smoothly executed.
The celebrations were graced by the presence of notable personalities, including the Chief Guest, acclaimed actress Anuradha Mukherjee, a recent recipient of two Filmfare Bengal awards. The Guest of Honour was Ms Kasturi Kejriwal, CEO of Aditya Academy. Other distinguished attendees included Mr VK Agarwal, Secretary General of Shikshayatan Foundation, Principal Ms Sangeeta Tandon, Head Mistress Ms Poushali Mukherjee, and GM HR Mr Subrata Ghosh.
The festivities began on May 3 with a melodious homage to Lord Ganesha, followed by a musical tribute to Sangeetha Devatha. Principal Ms Sangeeta Tandon addressed the audience, highlighting the significance of grit and perseverance. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was accompanied by the chanting of the hymn "Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Deva Maheshwaran," symbolizing the illumination of wisdom and knowledge.
A highlight of the day was a powerful drama depicting the life of Queen Jhansi, showcasing resilience and strength. Student President Ananti Sen of class XII spoke passionately about the importance of steadfastness and willpower.
The event saw participation from 20 schools, introduced with great enthusiasm. The first day featured a variety of competitions, including ‘Wit o Wizard’ - a fierce debate, ‘Colour Splash’ - a vibrant painting contest, and ‘Frozen Shadows’ - a photography competition that captivated onlookers. ‘Cine Magic’ showcased short films, while ‘Microbit Coders’ displayed innovative models using microbit chips. Other highlights included ‘Pixel Palette’ for digital poster creation, ‘Wordsmith’ for creative writing, and ‘Coalsce’ - a dazzling dance fusion.
On the second day, activities continued with ‘Eclat’ - a stylish fashion show, and ‘Serve It Right’, a thrilling table tennis competition. ‘Brainvita’, a captivating quiz program, and ‘Twist in the Taste’, a non-fire cooking contest, added to the excitement. ‘Eureka’ encouraged budding scientists to showcase their projects, while the Treasure Hunt, dubbed as 'Casket of Treasure,' challenged participants' problem-solving skills. The day also featured a fusion band event, ‘Beat-O-Blend,’ which kept the energy high.
The Guests of Honour for the second day included Manjula Jain, Regional President of the Eastern Region of Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), and Indu Gandhi, educationist and Founder Director of Poison Consultancy Services.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the student president Swachchatoa Mukherjee of class XII, followed by a much-anticipated prize distribution ceremony. Shri Shikshayatan School emerged as the overall winner but graciously handed over the trophy to Mahadevi Birla World Academy. The celebration ended on a patriotic note with the rendition of the national anthem, marking the close of Jubilare 2024.
