Pearl Academy held a Creative Career Conclave in Kolkata, highlighted new age-careers opportunities in fashion and design

Pearl Academy organised a 'Creative Career Conclave' (CCC) in Kolkata on the 25th of April 2023. The forum brought together representatives from creative industries and creates an interactive space for them to engage with students and parents, and address questions about careers in fashion and design.

Centred around the uniqueness of creative careers, which often prioritize flexibility, exploration, and self-expression, the panelists included Antonio Maurizio Grioli, Dean of Pearl Academy; Shabnam Alam, a Pearl alumna and interior designer; Nina Mazumdar, a Pearl alumna and Communications Designer at Pixarty Design Studio; Kiran Uttam Ghosh, a celebrity fashion designer; and Gunjan Jain, the Founder of Vriksh designs.

The panelists inspired students to explore their passions and focus on navigating the constantly evolving landscape of fashion and design. They also emphasized the need for students to develop a wide range of skills to excel, from technical abilities to networking and personal branding.

Commenting on the initiative, Antonio Maurizio Grioli, Dean, Pearl Academy said, "We established the Creative Career Conclave to raise awareness and assist students in selecting the best course of study and career. The fields of fashion and design offer various career options that many students and their parents are still unaware of. Creative students have much to gain from the growing demand for professionals who are prepared for the workplace. The conclave's enthusiastic reception supports our conviction that young people's creative energy can be directed in a way that benefits them and serves as a catalyst for change."

Built with the goal of providing a platform that can aid young budding designers and fashion aspirants, in their quest to learn about the creative careers of today, the conclave explored important topics such as the influence of technology on the industries.

Additionally, the panellists also spoke on how creative professionals find their careers incredibly rewarding as they have an opportunity to create something unique and in turn bring about a meaningful impact on the world.
