Winter is around the corner and Kolkata is ready to jam. Coming up are a string of music festivals with the line-up comprising mostly of independent musicians and bands.
Music lovers can’t wait to get back to a live concert. Here are a few stage events scheduled for October and November.
Prognosis Volume I
When: October 31, 2021, at 3pm

What is it: A progressive music concert organised by Ayushmaan Chatterjee, Saptarshi P. Basu and Sayan Mukherjee. The line-up includes Kolkata-based bands Universe in a Crayon, Ronin, IN, Trees for Toothpicks, and 13th Notion. Darjeeling-based band If Hope Dies promises to spice up the last day of the month.
“You don’t get to hear of progressive music concerts in Kolkata. Prognosis aims at promoting independent progressive musicians and bands. There are a lot of progressive bands in India. They do not get platforms because it’s not mainstream music. From next year we plan to invite bands from all over the country,” said Ayushmaan, a third-year BBA student of Techno India Salt Lake.
