Amity Institute of Social Sciences (AISS), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus, in collaboration with Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation (KSCF), has organised a 3 Day Residential Training Programme, “Ensuring Access to Justice for Children”, from 4th to 6th July 2023 for 290 Project Managers and District Coordinators(volunteers) of KSCF.
Addressing the participants, Nobel Peace Laureate, Kailash Satyarthi, averred, “Children are the country's future, and it should be the social and moral responsibility of each citizen to ensure that every child’s rights are protected, and no child is exploited. The pledge for the safety and security of children has been taken by the District Coordinators who have gathered here today, from different parts of the country, for this noble cause. Dreams should give birth to new ideas, and one must move ahead with great self-confidence and belief in oneself.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “Many children become a victim of child abuse, child labour and are married off at the tender age of 10-12 years, especially in the rural areas of the country. At Amity, one Semester of every Programme is specially dedicated to social work, wherein they can choose their area of work, by participating in Community Outreach Programmes, and other meaningful initiatives undertaken by different NGOs.”

Emphasising the need for the protection of child rights, Social Activist and Supreme Court Advocate, Mr Bhuvan Ribhu, said, “In the last three months, through our campaign, about 6,200 children have been saved from bondage across the country and 1732 FIRs have been registered, whereas in the year 2021, a total of 9,000 children were rescued and about 1,050 FIRs were registered. In addition, more than 10 lakh people have taken the pledge to save children from child marriage.”
Highlighting the significance of the Training Programme, Mr Ravi Kant, Advocate Supreme Court, said, “The aim of the Programme is to stop child marriage completely and ensure justice for children. Participants from more than 270 districts, 17 states and 160 organizations, have gathered here for this Training Programme."

Welcoming the guests, Prof. (Dr.) Nirupama Prakash, Director of Amity Institute of Social Sciences (AISS), said, “Amity is extremely delighted to collaborate with Kailash Satyarthi Children Foundation (KSCF) for organizing this Residential Training Programme which aims to work for child rights and raise their voice against child crimes such as child marriage and child labour. Student community will also be involved in this Programme and Amity will extend all its support to KSCF for this noble cause.”
A brief introduction to the Training Programme was given by Mr Prashant R. Chauhan, Assistant Professor, Amity Institute of Social Sciences and the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr Rajeev Bharadwaj, Managing Trustee, India Child Protection Fund.
