Delhi Public School (DPS), Megacity recently hosted the Shyam Sunder Memorial Cup 2024, the of second edition of the Under-16 invitational cricket tournament. Students from 14 schools of class 10 and below participated in the three-day tournament from January 9 to January 11. The matches of the tournament were played in the lush green cricket field of the home team.

In the first Semi-final between DPS Megacity and DPS Newtown, DPS Megacity won a nail- biting match scoring 105/4 challenging 103/2 and winning with 6 wickets. In the second Semi-final between Don Bosco Park Circus and The Heritage School,

Don Bosco scored 111/2 shadowing The Heritage School’s score of 107/ 3 and triumphing with 8 wickets.

In the final match played between DPS Megacity and Don Bosco Park Circus, the winners trophy went to Don Bosco Park Circus while DPS Megacity was awarded the runners-up trophy.

The best bowler and best fielder of the tournament was Navoneel Guchchait and Shreyansh Poddar respectively, both from Vivekananda Mission School while Priyanshu Pramanik of Don Bosco Park Circus was adjudged the Most Valuable player of the tournament.

The tournament witnessed brilliant performances by every participating team with the audience engrossed in every match and cheering for their favourite team.

The event ended with a valedictory speech by Principal Mrs Indrani Sanyal.
