The Theatrical Society of St Xavier's College, Kolkata is organising TheaXav'24 on Monday, March 4 for all the theatre-loving souls of the institute. Amidst the hushed whispers of anticipation and the palpable aura of creativity, the prestigious walls of St. Xavier’s college will reverberate with the resounding cadence of artistic expression as the XTS unveils its grandeur through an awe-inspiring intercollege theatre festival TheaXav themed 'Still We Rise'.
TheaXav'24 will act as a beacon of hope and solidarity. The thematic resonance of 'Still We Rise' will serve as a poignant reminder of the collective strength inherent within every individual, beckoning audiences to introspect and celebrate the triumphs borne from adversity.
The celebration of different forms of theatres like stage play and street play in the form of competitive events we encapsulate our respect and regards towards this grand form of art.
XTS also presents its home production ‘Der Ruckritt’, with the fangs of horrific Orwellian regime and relentless pursuit of art and humanity to resist exuberance of power. Stagecraft and masterful storytelling will encapsulate the essence of triumph amidst trials, weaving together a mosaic of hope and inspiration.
The fest will also include a star-sketched panel discussion on 'Relevance of Theatre as a means of Resistance versus its role solely as a form of Entertainment', which is bound to bring on introspection and contemplation among the audience.
Through the collective power of storytelling, performance, and communal engagement, the fest will reaffirm the timeless adage: that indeed, 'Still We Rise' —undaunted, unbroken, and ever triumphant in the face of adversity.
