Higher educational institutions (HEIs) across India have been issued a letter by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to disseminate information about the PM-YUVA mentorship scheme for young authors 2.0.
The national contest for potential YUVA 2.0 candidates will end on 15 January 2023 at innovateindia.mygov.in/yuva.
The contestants are asked to submit a non-fiction book proposal of 10,000 words- synopsis: 2,000-3,000 words; chapter plan; sample chapters: 7,000-8,000 words and bibliography and references. The submitted entries for PM Yuva 2.0 scheme will be evaluated from January 16 to March 31, 2023.
The 75 authors that will be selected through the competition will be getting a scholarship of Rs 50,000 per month for a period of six months. In addition to this, the National Book Trust (NBT) will be publishing books by selected authors under the mentorship scheme.
The books prepared under this scheme will be published by the NBT and will also be translated into other Indian languages ensuring the exchange of culture and literature, thereby promoting 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.
