The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) Tamil Nadu has issued an official notification for the Tamil Language Literary Proficiency Test 2023 (TLAT 2023). This test, open to Class 11 students, is now open for registration through the official website, dge.tn.gov.in.

Scheduled to take place on October 15, TLAT 2023 is set to be held across the entire state. The Tamil Nadu government aims to identify and select 1,500 Class 11 students through this test, who will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1,600 for a duration of two years.

The registration window for TLAT 2023 opens on September 5, and candidates must keep in mind that the last date to register for the Tamil Literary Aptitude Test 2023 is September 20. To complete the registration process, students are required to fill out the application form and submit it along with a fee of Rs 50 to their respective school principals.

Eligibility for TLAT 2023

All Class 11 students attending recognized schools in Tamil Nadu, including those affiliated with CBSE and ICSE boards, are eligible to apply for the test. TLAT 2023 will be conducted based on the Tamil Nadu government's Class 10 standard syllabus and will take place at all district capitals.

The results for TLAT 2023 are anticipated to be announced in November 2023. Successful candidates will gain eligibility for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate Tamil language courses offered by universities and colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The difficulty level of the examination is considered moderate, and the test format will be pen-and-paper.
