The registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 is set to close tomorrow, September 26. Aspiring candidates who have yet to register should complete their applications on the official website – gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
Steps to Complete GATE 2025 Registration
- Visit the official website gate2025.iitr.ac.in
- Click on ‘Apply Now’ from the applications menu.
- Fill in the candidate’s personal details, select the paper(s) one wants to appear for, provide postal address, preferred examination cities, and qualification degree details.
- Upload scanned copies of one’s photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable), and PwD certificate (if applicable).
- Enter the government ID and bank details.
- Complete the payment process as per your category.
- Print the GATE 2025 application form and ensure your application status shows as ‘Complete.’
Application Fees for GATE 2025
It is INR 900 for female candidates and those belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, while all other candidates, including foreign nationals, are required to pay INR1,800.

GATE 2025 Exam Details
The exam, conducted by IIT Roorkee, will take place in two shifts:
- Forenoon session: 9.30AM to 12.30 PM (IST)
- Afternoon session: 2.30PM to 5.30PM (IST)
The GATE 2025 examination is jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee), under the National Coordination Board (NCB) – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The prestigious exam, which is organised this year by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, will be conducted in a computer based test (CBT) format in February 2025.
The registration process for GATE 2025 commenced on August 28, and this year, candidates will be able to choose from a total of 30 test papers, consisting of full and sectional papers.
