Bry-Air and Desiccant Rotors International (DRI) — two flagship companies under the Gurugram-based Pahwa Group of manufacturers — are providing underprivileged children with laptops, tablets and other digital tools to ensure seamless continuity of learning during the pandemic.
Speaking on the occasion of the International Day of Education on January 24, Anandita Pahwa, head of the Pahwa Group’s CSR initiative, said, “We want to render a progressive society by imparting quality education to the underprivileged and securing a bright future ahead for the children and youth.”
As part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) measures, Bry-Air and DRI have been working relentlessly throughout the pandemic to ensure quality education for the needy.
Apart from the laptops and tablets, which helped students pursue their education without any hindrance during the lockdown, they switched to digital mode through Gyantantra Digital Dost that connected approximately 400 students together.
Along with their NGO partner, Literacy India, Bry-Air and DRI have adopted a few learning centres where education is provided free of cost. The Bry-Air Pathshala and DRI Pathshala in Dharam Colony and Carterpuri village respectively facilitate a holistic learning environment for the development of underprivileged children.
The centres create a primary school environment conducive for the non-school going children and have been operational since 2011 and 2014 respectively. The centres come with the backup of a computer lab, a library and support the students with learning aids such as books and stationery, among other learning tools. They also conduct remedial classes for school-going children who are weak in their studies.
Bry-Air and DRI are also providing various skill development courses on diversified fields like Electrician Training, Computer Training, Spoken English, Beautician and Tailoring for the youths in Gurugram, Udaipur and Moga for their gainful employment.
The training is being provided through the DRI Udaan Skill Development Center for Computer Training, DRI Spoken English Course, DRI Udaan Skill Development Center and Dr Mathra Das Pahwa Learning Center for Beauticians & Tailoring and Bry-Air Udaan Skill Development Center for Electricians.
Till date, the initiative by the Pahwa Group has provided primary education to more than 6,000 children; scholarships to more than 100 students; skilled more than 2,000 youth in electronics, computer training, beautician and tailoring; and benefited 700-odd students with its library facility.
The Pahwa Group is a group of knowledge-based and technology driven companies offering advanced environmental control solutions. Bry-Air is a global solution provider for dehumidification, and DRI, of components, products and systems for fresh air treatment, evaporative cooling and green buildings among others.
