The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Board has extended the counselling reporting deadline for MBBS and BDS candidates due to the impact of Cyclone Dana. Initially set between October 24 and October 26, 2024, the new deadline for reporting to allotted colleges is now October 30, 2024. This extension comes as the state braces for the cyclone, which has already led to the closure of educational institutions and the postponement of exams across Odisha.
OJEE authorities have instructed candidates who received fresh allotments in the third round of counselling to report to their respective colleges by the revised deadline. Additionally, candidates in the upgradation round must report to the OJEE Cell in Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar, on October 28, 2024, between 10 AM and 4 PM. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of their seat, which will then be included in the stray vacancy round.
The schedule for the stray vacancy round counselling will be announced soon. Colleges have been directed to facilitate the physical reporting process and complete admission formalities for the allotted candidates.
“Regarding reporting of MBBS/BDS students, Dean and Principals are required to take appropriate decisions at their level for physical reporting of the students keep in view of the situation due to cyclone Dana ”, the official website highlighted.
Deans and principals of the colleges have been asked to make the necessary arrangements ensuring the process remains smooth despite the ongoing weather challenges.
