The Indian Institute of Management is set to release the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 notification soon. Candidates will be able to check the notice on the official website at iimcat.ac.in.
Last year, CAT was conducted by IIM Lucknow. Reports suggest that IIM Calcutta will take charge of CAT 2024. The exam is tentatively scheduled for the last Sunday of November.
According to trends, the CAT 2024 notification should be released in July, with registrations beginning in August 2024. Registration should close in September, and admit cards should be issued soon after. The examination will likely be scheduled for November, with results likely to be announced in January 2025.
How to Apply for CAT 2024
Eligibility Criteria (as per CAT 2023)
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST, and PwD categories). Complete eligibility details will be available in the official brochure upon release.
- Candidates in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, and those who have completed their degree requirements and are awaiting results, are also eligible to apply.

- CAT Exam-Marking Scheme: +3 for correct answers, -1 for incorrect answers, 0 for unattempted questions, no negative marking for TITA questions

Registration Fees (as per last year)
The registration fee last year was INR 1200 for SC, ST, and PwD category candidates and INR 2400 for all other candidates. The application fee was non-refundable and had to be paid online.
The CAT scores are used for admission to postgraduate management programmes and fellow or doctorate programmes at IIMs, and are also accepted by various non-IIM institutions.
