The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has announced an extension for the Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) 2024 option registration deadline for the first round of seat allotment. Candidates now have until July 15 to complete their registrations. This decision follows an interim order by the High Court, as stated in an official notice on KEA's website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/dcet2024.
According to the interim order, candidates from the Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) are now eligible for seat allotment. Document verification for NTTF candidates is scheduled for July 14, 2024. Candidates who pass the document verification process will be considered for the first round of seat allotment. These candidates must visit KEA, Malleshwaram, Bangalore, with all original documents and two sets of photocopies.
The notice also clarified that vocational diploma candidates who have applied for DCET 2024 must submit a one year service certificate to be eligible for admission to vocational Second Year/ Third Semester engineering courses. Those who do not submit this certificate will not be eligible. Such candidates need to have their documents verified and obtain a verification slip to be considered as Regular Diploma candidates. They will then be allowed to register their options and be considered for the first round of seat allotment.
KEA stated that the revised schedule for further seat allotments will be published on the official website shortly.
