The National Medical Commission (NMC) has extended the deadline for applying for Eligibility Certificates for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) to November 25, 2024, until 6PM. This decision follows numerous representations from candidates who encountered technical issues while submitting their applications before the initial deadline of November 4, 2024.
The Eligibility Certificate is a mandatory document for candidates appearing for the FMGE scheduled on January 12, 2025. Without this certificate, issued by the NMC, applicants will not be permitted to take the screening test.
In a public notice, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the NMC emphasised that this additional window is meant to address these concerns while ensuring that candidates do not miss out on vital career opportunities. Aspirants can now apply for the certificate through the official portal at nmc.org.in.
The NMC has stated that the process of issuing these certificates involves detailed checks to ensure compliance with existing regulations. As such, applicants are advised to be patient, fill out their applications carefully to avoid errors, and avoid making unnecessary visits to the NMC office. Instead, they should monitor updates through their registered email IDs and the online portal.
