The National Eligibility Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on July 17, Sunday, from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM IST. The examination saw an attendance of 95% as the candidate count surpassed the 18 lakh mark, with a total of 18,72,341 medical aspirants appearing for it. The NTA said that this was the “highest record of attendance” for the exam in history, a significant increase over last year's 15.44 lakh candidates. The NTA confirmed that it will release the answer key shortly, and will also allow candidates to submit grievances and feedback. The answer key can be downloaded from the following websites: neet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in.
The examination was conducted in pen-and-paper mode, it went on for 3 hours and 20 minutes, and was divided into two broad sections across four different subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. The NTA also released an advisory containing all necessary exam-related information on July 14 for the benefit of the students.
The NEET-UG 2022 admit card was released on July 12 and candidates could download it through the examination’s official website. The exam was conducted at 3,570 centres across 497 cities within the country, as well 14 cities outside India.
“The number of candidates within India were maximum in Jaipur (52,351) and minimum in West Sikkim (105). Similarly, the number of candidates outside India were maximum in Dubai (646) and minimum in Thailand (6),” confirmed an NTA official.
