The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to soon release an updated schedule for NEET PG counselling 2024 on its official website, mcc.nic.in. Registration for the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 counselling process, which covers admissions to MD, MS, and DNB programmes, is already underway.
The Supreme Court hearing addressing last-minute changes in the NEET PG 2024 exam pattern and alleged result discrepancies has been deferred to October 4. This postponement occurred as representatives from the Union of India were absent from the previous hearing.
The apex court will now tentatively examine the petitions filed against the National Board of Examinations (NBE) concerning the normalisation of marks on October 4. The plea, submitted by 19 aspirants, was previously heard on September 20. At that hearing, the Supreme Court labelled the last-minute alterations in the exam process as "very unusual”.
A bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, in conjunction with senior advocate Vibha Datta Makhija and lawyer Tanvi Dubey representing the students, demanded responses from the NBE and the Centre within a week. The matter was initially listed for a hearing on September 27.
In the lead-up to the national level NEET PG exam 2024, meant for admissions into MD, MS, Diploma, and DNB courses, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) introduced significant changes to the exam pattern. This move has sparked concerns among aspirants regarding exam pattern modifications, mark normalisation, and transparency over answer keys and question papers from the August 11 exam.
Following the announcement of NEET PG 2024 results on August 23, many candidates voiced concerns over unexpectedly low rankings, questioning the accuracy of the ranking process. This has prompted calls for the NBE to disclose the final answer keys and elaborate on the marking methodology used.
