The National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling special stray vacancy round has been announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). After the final round of NEET PG counselling in 2022, 2,244 PG seats and 62 MDS seats remained vacant. According to MCC, a special round of stray vacancy counselling is being held to fill these seats.
According to MCC's rules and guidelines for participation in the additional round of counselling, candidates must submit a refundable security deposit of Rs. 50,000 in order to attend the counselling. Additionally, students will be restricted from taking the NEET PG exam in 2023 if they do not accept the seats that were assigned to them in the special round.
NEET PG Counselling: Important Instructions
- The special stray vacancy round will not involve any new registrations. The counselling is open to pre-registered candidates who do not have a spot in the All India Quota (AIQ) or state quota.
- Candidates will have to make new choices, and any choices that have already been made will be considered "null and invalid."
- No matter their category, all registered candidates must pay a refundable security deposit of Rs. 50,000 to take part in the special round for stray vacancies.
- Candidates' refundable deposits will be forfeited if they don't take their assigned seats.
- Candidates would not be allowed to participate in NEET PG 2023 if they do not accept the seats.
