MCC Updates NEET UG 2024 Stray Vacancy Criteria, Adds Seat: Know More

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has updated the eligibility criteria for the stray vacancy round of the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling 2024. In compliance with a court order, MCC has added a seat from Sri Lakshmi Narayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Puducherry, for this round. Additionally, state counselling authorities have been instructed to share data of candidates who have joined by October 25, 2024.

Steps to Register for NEET UG Stray Vacancy Round 2024

1. Visit the official website at mcc.nic.in.
2. Go to the ‘PG Medical Counselling’ section.
3. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
4. Use the login credentials provided to complete the registration process.
5. Fill in the personal and academic details carefully, then submit the form after reviewing.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET UG Stray Vacancy Round 2024

Eligible candidates for the stray vacancy round are those who do not currently hold any seat under either the All India Quota (AIQ) or state quota. However, candidates who were allotted a seat in round 3 but failed to join are considered ‘Not Eligible’ for this round of counselling. On the other hand, candidates who did not report for their seats in round 3 may still participate in the state counselling process.

Candidates who joined seats under the state quota in earlier rounds are not allowed to participate in the stray vacancy round.

According to the MCC, this data is crucial to ensure that candidates who have already secured seats are filtered out before the stray vacancy round begins. A list of candidates who joined in rounds 1, 2, and 3 has been issued for the counselling authorities in states and union territories to cross-check.
