The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has reopened the application window for NEET PG 2024 candidates to apply for a nationality change from Indian to Non-Resident Indian (NRI). Candidates eligible for this nationality conversion can submit their applications by 5 PM today, i.e., November 2, 2024. This adjustment window is essential for those seeking NRI status for the ongoing NEET PG counselling.
Application Guidelines for NRI Status Conversion
Candidates aiming to change their nationality status must send supporting documents via email to nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com between 5 PM on November 1 and 5 PM on November 2, 2024. Documents must meet the Supreme Court's standards for validating NRI status. Importantly, candidates who previously submitted documentation for this conversion and were approved do not need to resubmit their documents.
Required Documentation for Nationality Conversion
For successful conversion to NRI status, candidates need to provide the following documents:
- NEET PG 2024 Scorecard
- Proof of Sponsorship by NRI: This includes the sponsor’s passport, visa, and proof of their NRI status.
- Relationship Proof: Documentation of the candidate’s relationship with the NRI sponsor, as mandated by the Supreme Court.
- Affidavit of Financial Sponsorship: A notarized affidavit from the sponsor confirming they will cover the candidate's course fees.
- Embassy Certificate: A certificate from the sponsor's embassy or consulate.
- Notarized Family Tree: Verified by a Tehsildar, detailing the family lineage and relationship to the NRI sponsor.
“Candidates are advised to send all documents enclosed in single mail only, within stipulated time,” read the official notification.
MCC notes that the nationality change remains provisional until verified by the respective college and authorities upon reporting. Documents, especially the Embassy Certificate, may be forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs or High Commissions for authentication. Any falsified documents will lead to the cancellation of the candidate's seat and possible legal repercussions.
Alongside the nationality conversion update, MCC has also released the much-awaited complete counselling schedule for all phases of NEET PG 2024.
