The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has initiated the nationality conversion process for Indian students aspiring to change their status to Non-Resident Indian (NRI) for NEET PG Counselling 2024. As per the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India's ruling in the case (W.P. (C) No.689/2017 - Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka & Anr. Vs. Union Of India & Ors.) dated August 22, 2017, candidates wishing to make this change must submit relevant documentation within the given timeframe.

Important Dates

The process began on September 15, 2024, at 10 AM and will close on September 17, 2024, at 10 AM. Aspirants must email their documents in support of the nationality change from Indian to NRI to nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com. It is crucial to submit all documents in a single email to avoid disqualification.

Required Documents

Candidates need to provide the following documents;

  • Supporting documents to establish NRI status (passport, visa)
  • Relationship of NRI with the candidate as per the court orders
  • Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/ she will sponsor the candidate’s entire course fee
  • A certificate of sponsorship from the concerned Embassy
  • Candidate’s NEET PG scorecard
  • Family tree notarized by Tehsildar
  • English translations for any certificates originally in a regional language

The MCC has also highlighted that this nationality conversion is provisional and subject to further verification by the allotted college during reporting. Additionally, the Embassy Certificate from the sponsor will be sent to the Ministry of External Affairs or respective High Commissions for validation. If any documents are found to be fake, the candidate’s provisional allotment will be cancelled, and legal action may be taken.
