The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has introduced 9,431 positions for school teachers in Classes 1 to 5 as part of the Bihar Education Department's teacher recruitment process for 2023. Interested candidates can submit their applications for these vacancies on the official website, bpsc.bih.nic.in.

Applicants must be Indian citizens and have passed Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test paper 1. Those appointed and working before 2012, who pass the efficiency test, are exempt from the teacher eligibility test.

According to the provisions for CTET candidates in BTET 2017, a minimum of 60% marks is required. Candidates from backward classes, extremely backward classes, general category, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and disabled category must have 50% marks in qualifying exams.

BPSC specifies that candidates for the school teacher position must possess the educational and training qualifications outlined by the National Teacher Education Council. The eligibility criteria include:

- Senior secondary or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

- Senior secondary or equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education following NCTE Regulations 2002.

- Graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

A 5% relaxation in educational and qualification requirements will be granted to candidates belonging to SC, ST, EWS, OWS, and PwD categories, as per BPSC.
