Sharda University, in collaboration with the Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP), the Welfare Association has established a Skill Development Centre at the EPIP, Greater Noida, to foster industry-academia collaboration and establish a purpose-oriented engagement with the industry. This will empower and engage the underprivileged section of society through capacity building and skill development for the benefit and betterment of the community at large.
The Sharda University EPIP Welfare Association Skill Development Centre was inaugurated on 22 February 2023. Dr. Sibaram Khara,Vice Chancellor , Sharda University ; Vivek Gupta, Registrar, Sharda University; Dr. Parma Nand, Dean, Sharda School of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Anubha Vaishisht, Director IQAC, Sharda University ; Dr. Mridul Dharwal ,Professor of Economics, Sharda University ; Mr. Talvinder Singh Happy, President EPIP Welfare Association ;Ms. Shobha Singh, Founder, Perfection Handicrafts attended the inauguration.
To kick start the Skill Development Center, the first training programme on "HR Effectiveness: Building Brand Image: A Leap into New HR" was organised with the objective of up-skilling and grooming HR professionals of the various factories in the EPIP by the competent faculty of Sharda University. The programme was successfully conducted with over 50 attendees.
At the inauguration, Dr Sibaram Khara, Vice chancellor, Sharda University said.” We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership between Sharda University and EPIP Welfare Association, in which trained university faculty will provide relevant training to professionals and factory workers in areas such as behavioural skills, stress, POSH compliance, communication etiquettes, financial literacy, design training, technical skill enhancement, cyber security, basic health and hygiene, preventive and primitive healthcare, to name a few. “
Mr. Talvinder Singh Happy, President of the EPIP Welfare Association, addressed the attendees and said, "We are pleased that this collaboration will help in building a purpose-driven relationship with the industry for the community's benefit. It aims to provide enough training in abilities and skills needed in the market."
Dr. Anubha Vaishisht, Director of IQAC, said, "We want to train people in a variety of trades that are in great demand, and constantly receiving relevant training has the potential to boost output and efficiency, resulting in better consistency and making it simpler to achieve organisational objectives and project outcomes.,"
Mr. Vijay Juneja, General Secretary, EPIP, Welfare Association; Ms. Shobha Singh, Founder, Perfection Handicrafts; who was also the project in charge were also present during the inauguration of the Skill Development Center.
