REVELATION 4.0, was organised by the Academic Society of Computer Engineers & Students’ Senate of IIEST Shibpur from April 4 to April 6 at the institute’s premises. From an extravagant opening ceremony to a vibrant closing, the fest was an inspiration for the participants.

The inaugural event was graced by the likes of Sreerupa Chowdhury, co-founder of LegalCare, Rishov Mondal, CEO of Duuet, and Sayantan Mookherjee, founder of 221B Baker St whose firm also offered internships to the students of IIEST, Shibpur.

As a forerunner for social outreach, the Academic Society of Computer Engineers & Students’ Senate, IIEST Shibpur arranged a blood donation drive and collected 101 units of blood in association with the SSKM blood bank.

The technical events encouraged curiosity and innovation leaving attendees with a new perspective on mathematics, coding and computing.

On the other hand, Competitive events like Ganitam, Root_Access, and BuildWithUs promoted technical thinking and received strong participation from other colleges like Shibpur Dinobondhoo Institution and MAKAUT, Kolkata.

Root_Access had a total prize pool of Rs.10,000 and had contending universities like Gitam University, RMK Engineering College, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and IIEST, Shibpur.

An interactive photo booth was set up bringing an element of quirky fun to the event. Non-technical events like Chess, Techno Quiz, CodeStorm, FIFA and Valorant were enjoyed by all and stimulated a positive response from beginners and seasoned experts alike.

The last day of this three-day festival saw a unique game of solving a Murder Mystery.

The whodunnit-style game saw more than forty teams run around the campus searching for clues. At the end, with all the leads in hand, over a hundred participants were at the edge of their seats with animated hand gestures, trying to assemble the mystery.

Rohit Negi, a guest speaker received a striking response from the audience as he narrated his story, inspiring the youthful group of students present there. He also enlightened them on the different possibilities in the technical arena.

This tech extravaganza ended with an electrifying closing ceremony witnessing performances by the Department of Computer Science students.

The performances ranged from Bharatanatyam to an English song Chery Chery Lady and some exhilarating band performances to songs that had the crowd tapping their feet and nodding their heads. The stage was also graced by famous singer Prachi Mishra, who awed the audience with her mesmerising voice.

While Duuet and Unstop were event sponsors, Career Launcher was the educational partner of Revelation 2024. On the other hand, Learning While Travelling was the knowledge partner and saw The Telegraph Online Edugraph as the media partner.
