Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata will be hosting the 76th edition of Annual Session of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers 'Chemcon 2023', organised by Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers in association with Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, University of Calcutta, Jadavpur University and Heritage Institute of Technology. The conference will be held for a period of four days, i.e. from December 27 to December 30.
Over 1,400 scientists, faculty members of various academic institutions, research scholars and students from various colleges across the country will participate in the event which will be be held at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata. The event will be inaugurated by Dr C.V. Ananda Bose, the Governor of West Bengal.
"This is an excellent platform for the Chemical Engineers to upgrade their knowledge and network with eminent
personalities in this field," said Mr. Vikram Swarup, Vice-Chairman, Heritage Group of Institutions, Kolkata and
Chairman, Local organizing Committee, CHEMCON 2023.
The event will witness the presence of 24 eminent speakers from the industry and academia, who will address the audience on the theme, Energy Transition: Challenges & Opportunities.
"These three days will witness a huge gathering of scientists in Kolkata who will discuss about the future of energy and how chemical engineering is shaping up the future," said D M Butala, President, Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers.
The dignitaries to address the event include Dr N Kalaiselvi, Director General, CSIR, and Secretary, DSIR, Govt of India, Prof G D Yadav, Emeritus Professor of Eminence and Former Vice-chancellor, ICT, Mumbai, Sukla Mistry, Director - Refinery, IOCL, Debasish Nanda, Director- Business Development, Coal India, Parthasarathi Chatterjee, Executive Vice President- head, Offshore Oil & Gas, L&T Ltd, Arup Jhampri, Chief Operating Officer, ONGC, Subhankar Chakraborty, Vice president- R&D Exide Industries Ltd among others.
