The CISCE Regional Table Tennis Championship was hosted by DBMS English School on 4th August 2023. The championship was held between the Patna zone and the Jamshedpur zone with a total number of 54 students participating. The championship was divided into three categories, under-14 boys and girls, under-17 boys and girls and under-19 girls.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was well-known cricketer, Mr. Ishank Jaggi, who is also an alumnus of the D.B.M.S English School. He inaugurated the championship by lighting the ceremonial lamp and hoisting the CICSE Sports Flag. He was accompanied by Mrs. Priti Sinha, Principal of Gulmohur High School who is also the Zonal Co-ordinator of the Jamshedpur Zone and Mrs. Rajani Shekhar, Principal of DBMS English School who is also the Treasurer of CICSE Bihar and Jharkhand region.
Members of the School managing committee namely Mrs. Bhanumathi Neelakantan - Patron, Mr. B.Chandrashekhar - Chairperson, Mrs. Archana Ramesh - Secretary, Mrs. Priya Nagarajan - Joint Secretary, Mrs. Lalitha Seshadri - Treasurer were present to motivate the students. Archita Dey, a promising player of Jamshedpur zone took the sportsman's oath. Thereafter, the students of DBMS English School put up a welcome dance.
Mrs. Rajani Shekhar, the Principal of DBMS English School addressed the gathering. Mrs. Archana Ramesh, the Secretary of the School Managing Committee and Mrs. Priya Nagrajan, Joint Secretary of the School Managing Committee presented a memento to the Chief Guest and tokens of appreciation to the various dignitaries. Thereafter, Mr Ishank Jaggi addressed the gathering by encouraging the sports persons on to the path of success.
Mrs. Priti Sinha, Principal of Gulmohur High School as well as the Zonal coordinator of CISCE Jamshedpur zone was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony. Tokens of appreciation were presented to the technical officials. Thereafter the participants were presented the medals and certificates. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Priti Sinha addressed the gathering and inspired the participants to excel and stressed the importance of sports.
Thereafter the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr P.K Sahu, Vice Principal of DBMS English School.
The championship was concluded by lowering the CICSE sports flag. The championship upheld the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie as the players competed for the coveted positions.
