Registered students can now check their results by logging in with their Madhyamik roll number and other credentials through the official website - wbbse.wb.gov.in.

This year, 3,508 students applied for post-publication review and 41,781 for scrutiny. The board reviewed 14,229 answer sheets for the review process and found changes in 1,238 cases. For scrutiny, after examining 1,33,229 answer sheets, changes were made for 12,468 students. Initially, on May 2, the board had released a merit list featuring 57 students. Following the recent changes, 64 students now feature in the top ten list.

Key Changes in the Merit List

The review and scrutiny have notably altered the top ten rankings. For instance, Olive Gain from South 24 Parganas, originally in the sixth position with 688 marks, now stands fourth with 690 marks. Similarly, Saatwata De from South Dinajpur has moved to the fifth position with 689 marks, Abritti Ghatak from now sixth with 688 marks, and Ritobrata Nath from South 24 Parganas is seventh with 687 marks. Each of these students gained 2 to 3 additional marks.

This year’s results of both higher secondary and secondary examinations were significantly affected by review and scrutiny processes. There are ongoing discussions about whether the WBBSE should adopt a system similar to the CBSE, which might not include a merit list in future secondary and higher secondary results.
