Captain Shreyas Iyer was a relieved man after Delhi Capitals prevailed over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 to earn their very first IPL final berth.
Shreyas himself isn’t going through the best of times with the bat but his teammates ensured they delivered which made him happy at the end of the day.
“It’s amazing, the best feeling ever,” he said at the post-match presentation.
“This has been a roller-coaster ride for the team. A lot of ups and downs, but we have stuck together like a family.
“A lot of responsibility comes from being the captain and, on top of that, you have to maintain consistency as a batsman. But I have been getting a lot of support from my coaches and the owners.”
Talking about the kind of approach with which the Capitals will go into the final against a very strong Mumbai Indians side, Shreyas said: “In the next game too we have to play freely and maintain this temperament.”
