However, Jofra Archer, who was recently released by the Mumbai Indians, has not enrolled himself. The fast bowler is struggling to regain fitness and may not be available for the IPL this season.

A total of 1,166 cricketers, including 830 Indians, have registered themselves. The list was shared with the IPL franchises on Friday.

Eighteen of the Indians are capped players and include KS Bharat, Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat, Kedar Jadhav, Shivam Mavi, Shahbaz Nadeem, Manish Pandey, Harshal Patel, Hanuma Vihari and Umesh Yadav.

Only four — Harshal, Kedar, Shardul and Umesh — have set their base price at a maximum of Rs 2 crore. The remaining 14 will be available at the reserve price of
Rs 50 lakh.

Media rights value

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said in Bangalore on Friday that the media rights value of the league has the potential to touch a staggering $50 billion over the next two decades. The current media rights value stands at $6.2 billion (approx. Rs 48000 crore) for a five-year period starting from 2022.
