Kolkata Metro Railway announced on Thursday that it will run 266 daily services — 133 pairs of trains — up from 256 from Monday to Friday from October 4
Out of these, 167 services (83 up and 84 down) will run between Kavi Subhash and Dakshineshwar instead of the 148 now.
The first trains will leave at 7:30am as usual and the last trains will be at 9:18pm from Dakshineshwar to Kavi Subhash (no change) and at 9:30pm from Dumdum and Kavi Subhash.
During morning and evening peak hours, the Metro will run services at an interval of 5 minutes.
East-West Metro services will remain unchanged and similarly no tokens will be issued.
The Metro Authorities have requested the commuters to maintain social distancing and other Covid-19 protocols within the Metro premises.
In the run-up to the festive season in Bengal in October, health experts have warned against complacency to avoid a third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
