The rapid antibody tests for Covid-19 will remain suspended until their accuracy is rechecked, official sources said on Saturday.
The statement leaves the time frame open-ended, unlike Tuesday when an ICMR official had said that “after two days, we will be in a position to give a clear advisory”.
Officials said the ICMR was still analysing samples of the rapid antibody test kits procured from two Chinese companies and distributed among the states.
A PTI report quoted health minister Harsh Vardhan as saying that the results of the kits varied from place to place and they “can’t be relied on”.
