Two IAF fighter planes crash in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. Preliminary reports suggested that one aircraft fell in Morena in Madhya Pradesh and other reportedly went down in the general area around Bharatpur, the sources said.  Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was briefed by Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari on the crash of two IAF aircraft, they said. One pilot dead, two others injured.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi resumed his Bharat Jodo Yatra from here in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday, a day after cancelling the foot-march in Anantnag district after the party alleged security lapse. Priyanka Gandhi walked alongside the former Congress president amidst tight security arrangements before the yatra stopped for a break at Lethpora.

Former Supreme Court judge Rohinton Fali Nariman has slammed Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju for his "diatribe" against the collegium system for appointment of judges, and said the government sitting on the names of judges recommended by the collegium was "deadly" for democracy.  Nariman also said that if the last bastion of independent judiciary falls, then the country would enter the "abyss of a new dark age". What is the independence of the judiciary if independent and fearless judges are not being appointed, he said.

 Israel's ambulance service on Saturday said a gunman opened fire in East Jerusalem, leaving at least two people injured. Seven people were killed and 10 were injured in a synagogue shooting attack on the outskirts of Jerusalem on Friday, Israel's foreign ministry said.

Nichols, a 29-year-old Black motorist and father, succumbed to his injuries and died three days after his encounter with police at a traffic stop earlier this month. Authorities in the US city of Memphis released graphic video footage on Friday of the deadly beating of Tyre Nichols by police officers.

Five former Memphis police officers, all of whom were fired last week, were booked into Tennessee's Shelby County Jail on Thursday.

The Grievance Appellate Committees set up by the government to look into users' complaints against large social media companies like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will commence operation from March 1, the Ministry of Electronics and IT said on Saturday.

The Centre on Friday notified three Grievance Appellate Committees (GACs) under an amendment to IT Rules 2021 notified in October.

Non-identical twins from Bharatpur, Aditya Sharma and Anurag Sharma, who were to take their JEE-Mains earlier this week, alleged Saturday that they missed the test as the National Testing Agency withheld their admit cards over 'doubtful credentials'.

They were scheduled to take the exam on January 25 at an allotted examination centre in Jaipur but were denied the admit cards, the brothers claimed.

A fire broke out in the storeroom of the nursing home-cum-private house in Bank More area of Dhanbad, 170 km from Ranchi, around 2 am, he said.

Six fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire, which was brought under control in a one-and-a-half-hour-long operation.
