A new song from the January 12 film Bijoyar Pore, starring Swastika Mukherjee, Mamata Shankar, Deepankar De, Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Bidipta Chakraborty and more, has dropped, and netizens have reacted strongly, showering it with praise. The soulful track, Jotne rakha is composed by Ranajoy Bhattacharjee and sung by Ranajoy and Lagnajita Chakraborty.

Jotne rakha is a very emotional, breezy song. This is a song about homecoming. A song of warmth. The song appears in the film at a time when family members are bonding with each other. Some are waiting for other members to come back home. The song communicates warmth, positivity and hope. It’s all about the emotional connect between the members of the family,” said Ranajoy.

Bijoyar Pore (Autumn Flies), directed by Abhijit SriDas, unfolds as a narrative that explores the themes of love, family ties, and reconnection, particularly during the festive season. This journey takes the audience on an exploration of intricate family dynamics and the widening divide between generations. Against the backdrop of the Durga Puja festival, the film highlights the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of love, transcending the boundaries of life and death.

“The song Jotne rakha becomes the anthem, celebrating the triumphs of diverse expectations in the symphony of existence. In those special moments captured in pictures, the rhythm of life plays, urging people to return to the known cadence, whether it be the fleeting moment or the enduring one. In Bengali life, Durga Puja holds a special place, its ever-present emotions deeply rooted in the community. From myth to common life, parents become anxious for their daughters during autumn, and feelings of love, affection, and emotions become intertwined with our physical existence. Our film captures the aspects of relationships that blend into daily life discussions, connections, culture, and life values. The essence of Durga Puja continues to impact and shape the lives of the Bengali people, reflecting a rich cultural heritage. The words ‘Bijoyar pore’ encapsulate the story of a slice of life. The unsolicited sentiments and unheard voices are summarised and presented in the personas of characters like Aloka, Ananda, Mrinmoyee, and others, each proclaiming their individual aura. These elements culminate in the essence of my film,” said Abhijit.
