Box office report: Suriya-starrer Kanguva’s daily collection drops below Rs 1 crore on Day 9

Suriya-starrer Kanguva witnessed a 68 per cent drop in collection on Friday, earning Rs 0.61 crore nett after raking in close to Rs 2 crore on Thursday, according to industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk.

The film has accumulated Rs 64.91 crore nett so far at the domestic box office.

Vikrant Massey’s The Sabarmati Report, which released alongside Kanguva on November 15, added Rs 1.4 crore to its earnings on Friday. The Dheeraj Sarna-directed political drama has earned Rs 12.9 crore nett in India in nine days.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 maintained its lead over Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again on Day 22. The horror-comedy, directed by Anees Bazmee, has amassed Rs 240.95 crore nett in India, while the collections of the Rohit Shetty-directed cop actioner stand at Rs 236.90 crore nett.

Among the new releases of the week, Shoojit Sircar’s Abhishek Banchchan-starrer I Want to Talk began its box-office journey with a collection of Rs 0.75 crore nett on Day 1.

Nikkhil Advani’s Kal Ho Naa Ho, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, which re-released on November 15, earned Rs 2.4 crore gross at the end of extended first week of theatrical run. Meanwhile, Rakesh Roshan’s Karan Arjun, which re-released on the big screen on Friday, earned Rs 0.30 crore nett on Day 1, as per trade figures.
