The award was announced on Saturday night and was announced by the oldest B-school in the country, XLRI Jamshedpur on Monday.

“The winning case was registered and developed in the XLRI Case Research and Simulation Development Centre (XL-CRSDC), which is a case repository of XLRI. The case highlighted the collaborative strategy employed by the World Bank to bring together multiple stakeholders like private, public, and international agencies to implement the GEWEL Project in Zambia,” said XLRI spokesperson.

Girls’ Education and Women’s Empowerment and Livelihoods (GEWEL) is a cash-plus social protection program that aims to empower girls and women coming from the poorest households of Zambia.

Authors emphasised that they write more cases on diverse domains of business management and public policy-related issues.

“Winning this prestigious award motivates us to write more cases on the concept of ‘collaboration’ that has gained relevance in the contemporary world.

“It helps individuals and organisations to work collectively to solve common problems that cannot be managed single-handedly by any government or private entity.
Our efforts in writing cases, particularly on public policy-related issues, is also aligned with XLRI’s commitment to work for inclusiveness and the greater good of the society,” said the faculty of finance at XLRI, Trilochan Tripathy.

The case enumerated the formal, consensus-oriented, deliberative collective decision-making processes that were implemented in the GEWEL project designed to empower women and girl child of Zambia.

The PARCC is a multi-faceted, interdisciplinary research centre that advances both theory and practice to resolve disputes and foster cooperation in a range of international development contexts.

E-PARCC, a project of the collaborative governance initiative, is an online repository that provides academicians effective and innovative teaching cases and simulations to engage students in solving complex problems and strategising collaborative solutions. The project provides free online access to academicians and researchers working in the area of conflict and collaboration across the world.

Significantly, XLRI Case Research and Simulation Development Centre (XL-CRSDC) was established with the vision to make XLRI a major business case repository in India. Its mission is to facilitate excellence in business pedagogy and research through cases.

The Centre has forged strategic collaboration with several corporates and institutions to develop impactful field-based cases.

Several field-based cases, in agreement with corporate firms, are already underway and some are near completion.

These cases provide an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by the firms. The Centre has developed a diverse pool of field-based and secondary teaching cases. XL-CRSDC is also in the process of creating a digital repository for showcasing all its published cases.
