The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations declared the ICSE Class X results on 14 May, 2023. Emerging trends showed how students from West Bengal fared exceptionally well in the board exams. The St Francis Academy (SFA) was no exception to this phenomenon and students of the institution performed admirably like every other year. A total of 79 students of the school wrote the exams this year and scored laudably. Anshu Tiwari, Abhinaw Shaw, and Dibyanka Priyadarshini Sahoo emerged as the top three scorers. Teachers and faculty of the school praised the students’ performances and shared their success stories.
Talking about Anshu, who scored 98.2% marks in the exam, his class teacher said, “She has been sincere and diligent since day one and never failed to amaze us with her dedication. Anshu performed all her duties as the School Head Girl responsibly. She is not just a source of inspiration for her friends, but also a source of pride for SFA. I congratulate her on acing her papers and ask her to keep believing in herself and work hard; more achievements are yet to come! I am really proud to call her our student and wish her the best for life.”
Abhinaw overcame a lot of difficulties in his family and still nailed the exams by securing 93.8% marks, which was expected of him. “Homework can be hard, but he changed the way one thinks about learning by reframing it as a tool which helps in shaping a brighter future,” said one of his teachers. Abhinaw is known to possess a rare mix of intellect and presence of mind which makes him stand apart.
According to her teachers, Dibyanka is a sharp spoken and lively individual who always wears a smile on her face. The ace student scored 90.4% in the board exams. “All the sacrifices and sleepless nights have finally paid off. Exams are tough, but champions make it interesting with their superb performance. We knew she’d do great on her exams and she proved that dedication and learning result in excellent outcomes. While conquering exams is just the beginning, I wish she conquers many more summits in her life,” her class teacher noted.
Speaking on the success of his students, Fr. Remish Ekka, O.F.M Cap Principal, SFA, said, “It is indeed a fine moment for SFA to celebrate the illustrious success of our shining stars. Their glorious faces make us smile as we have been a part of their journey. Their hard work, sleepless nights and dedication contributed towards a good result and we are always there to fuel their energy. Our heartiest blessings are with the students and we wish them a victorious future ahead.”
SFA students have grabbed attention by consistently performing well in the ICSE exams. The top-scoring students secured 94% marks in 2021-22, and 99.7% marks in 2020-21 respectively.
Schools play a major part in shaping the lives of students and contribute towards their character building. SFA has been decidedly doing that for more than a decade by focussing on all-round development of students, in addition to academics.
