A revised schedule issued by college says online application form for admission will close on July 12, and admission tests will be held from July 14 to 18.

The two Ramakrishna Mission colleges that started receiving online applications before the education department had issued the undergraduate admission notification, have extended the last date for the submission of online forms.

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur, and Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur, have decided to offer a four-year UG programme after the state government adopted the course.

Before the education department announced its stand on the four-year programme, the two colleges did not say anything about the duration of their UG programme.

So far the colleges in Bengal followed a three-year undergraduate course.

The online submission of forms at Vidyamandira started on May 22. According to the previous schedule, the last date to submit forms was June 13. A revised schedule issued by the college says: “Online filling up of application form for admission will close on July 12".

The admission tests were scheduled to be held from June 16 to June 22.

The revised schedule says the tests will be held from July 14 to 18.

The revised admission notice says: “Undergraduate (UG) BA/BSc degree courses will be offered under the four-year honours programme."

Principal Swami Mahaprajnananda told The Telegraph: “In the previous notice we did not say anything on what would be the duration of the undergraduate programme because we were awaiting a decision from the state government. We want undergraduate aspirants to apply knowing that Vidyamandira is offering a four-year programme."

Swami Ekachittananda, principal of the college in Narendrapur, said they have decided to extend the last date of submission of forms from June 16 to June 20.

“The dates have been extended so that more candidates can apply,” the principal said.

The online submission of forms at the college started on May 20.

The principal said the schedule for the admission tests would remain unchanged.
