Required: proper planning and smart strategies q I am in Class XII. We have assignments and a lot of other studies. So how do I juggle schoolwork and college applications?

Navigating the demands of Class XII while managing college applications can feel overwhelming. However, you can successfully handle both with proper planning and smart strategies. First, creat a comprehensive list of all your school assignments, tests and application deadlines. Visualising your tasks can help you manage your time effectively and prevent last-minute stress. Prioritise your assignments and application components, focusing on high-impact activities like major exams and important essays. Break large tasks into smaller, manageable chunks. For example, divide it into brainstorming, drafting and revising stages instead of writing an entire college essay in one sitting.

Setting achievable goals for each day or week is a key strategy. Whether it’s finishing a particular assignment, completing a section of your application or dedicating a specific amount of time to study, these small victories give you a sense of accomplishment and motivate you. Don’t put off tasks that seem less urgent as procrastination only adds to stress. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, ask for support from teachers, school counsellors or family members.

Get enough sleep, eat well and take breaks to relax and recharge. A healthy mind and body are crucial to maintain productivity and focus. Balancing academics and college applications is all about smart time management. Take one step at a time and seek help if necessary.

Logistic wins q I am a student of Class XII. Can you tell me about career prospects in logistics and supply chain management? What are the pathways to enter this field?

Logistics and supply chain management (SCM) are crucial components of businesses operations. Logistics focuses on the transportation, warehousing and delivery of goods, ensuring that products move efficiently from one place to another. Supply chain management (SCM) includes a broader range of activities, such as planning, sourcing, manufacturing and managing the flow of goods, from raw materials to finished products. Companies like Amazon and Flipkart rely heavily on logistics and SCM to ensure that millions of products are delivered to customers quickly and accurately.

Apart from e-commerce, there’s a significant scope in industries ranging from manufacturing to retail. As e-commerce grows, the demand for skilled professionals is rising.

Pursue a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or another relevant course, such as business awdministration, engineering, or logistics. This foundation will provide you with essential knowledge and skills in planning, sourcing, manufacturing and managing the flow of goods. After you graduate, consider enroling in a certification course or do an MBA in supply chain management, which offers advanced insights and practical skills needed in the industry. Another viable path is earning an engineering degree and then getting a postgraduate diploma in SCM. Internships and work experience in logistics, warehousing or transportation companies can also provide valuable hands-on experience.
