Stark reminder

Politics provides a window to the harsh reality of today’s world. Most school students live in a bubble of comfort and innocence. Politics is a stark reminder that life outside school is not all roses but mostly thorns. So, a student must know about every ongoing thing around him or her and should certainly have, and also express, his or her political views.

Create awareness

Politics has a huge impact on our daily lives and students need to be aware of the functioning of our government. Being a citizen of this country, every student has the right to express his or her political views. Through debates and discussions, students will be able to get an idea of the present scenario of politics in our country.

Engaged citizenry

Students are the future of our democracy — it is important for them to be able to participate in their nation’s political processes. By encouraging students to form their own opinions and to express them freely, we can help create a more informed and engaged citizenry. It will also help students to develop their critical thinking skills. India is a democratic country and the real power resides in the people’s hands. Having your own opinion is wholly a person’s choice and expressing it is their right. Be it a student, a teacher or any other adult.

Way of democracy

Students should have political opinions. That’s a part of democracy itself. Being the future of the nation, they need to understand and analyse how the world around them is. If each student can do this, we will have a knowledgeable society that will keep the country on the right path. They also need to have expectations from politicians for the betterment of their nation.

Develop perspective

In my opinion a student should be free to express his or her political views. An understanding of politics will also help the student learn to identify what is right and wrong. They will also learn a diplomatic approach and when they discuss politics with each other, they will be able to develop a certain perspective towards national politics and be able to judge people, politicians and their agenda fairly well.
