The state JEE, held to screen students for the BTech, architecture and BPharma programmes in Bengal’s universities and government and private engineering colleges, were conducted on April 28.

Sources in the board said the centralised online admission process for admission to the BTech process was expected to start in July.

“At this moment. we are awaiting the seat matrix from the state higher education department. The seat matrix denotes the number of BTech seats available discipline-wise in each institute,” said a JEE board official.

An official of the department said the seat matrix was going to change as Calcutta University has decided to convert all its seats to four-year BTech programmes.

Earlier of the 400-odd BTech seats, 253 seats were set aside for the four-year BTech programmes where students would be admitted based on their ranks in JEE.

The remaining seats were reserved for the three-year BTech programmes and were open to BSc graduates based on their results at the undergraduate level.
