An expansive library and a dedicated sports arena were thrown open at Woxsen University in Telangana on December 17.
The facilities were inaugurated by Telangana education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and urban development minister K.T. Rama Rao.
“Woxsen is a world-class university that provides students with opportunities to flourish all over the world,” said Reddy, while inaugurating a Bloomberg finance lab, an academic block, a sports arena equipped with modern facilities and an all-digital library.
Vishal Khurma, CEO of Woxsen University, said the new facilities will provide exposure to global standards of education to the students and put an end to their search for higher studies in foreign universities.
“The kind of confidence instilled in Woxsenites is undoubtedly equipping them to compete on a global scale. Woxsen truly is no less than the best of the universities in the West,” Rao said.
With 20 Bloomberg terminals, the varsity’s Bloomberg finance lab is among the largest in India. It is expected to provide the students an opportunity to learn about the complex processes of financial services and capital market.
The newly built library, spread over 70,000 square feet, is fully digitised and automated. It gives students access to over 15,000 books and more than 33,000 online resources.
The sports arena spread over 10 acres of land has some of the best sporting infrastructure in South Asia. It covers a wide array of sporting facilities, including two five-a-side football fields with pro-synthetic turf and a box cricket arena. The indoor stadium houses eight badminton courts.
The new academic block is spread over 75,000 square feet and boasts modern facilities like an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics studio, analytics & behavioural labs, design studios and architecture studios.
“The new infrastructure was constructed with a vision of providing world-class education and holistic development to students studying across various domains on campus. The new facilities will also encourage innovation,” said Praveen K. Pula, founder and president of Woxsen University.
This event witnessed a conglomeration of industry experts, top-tier corporates, government officials, politicians, industrialists and the top management of the university.
