As per sources, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has announced the final date for class 11 registration. The enrollment of more than 24,000 students who have passed the Madhyamik examination remains incomplete, raising questions about the role of schools in this regard.
Out of the 7,65,252 students who passed the West Bengal Madhyamik secondary school level examination this year, 7,40,560 registrations have been completed so far. Complete fees have been submitted by 6,37,999 students, but schools have not yet registered the names of the remaining 24,692 students, causing confusion about whether they have been admitted to class 11.
After extending the deadline initially up to July 10, the WBCHSE issued another notification setting July 16 as the final date for online submission of documents by schools.
In June, the Council had published a circular detailing the registration rules and fees for eleventh grade students. Schools are required to deposit INR 75 as registration fee, INR 45 as form processing fee, INR 30 as convenience fee, and INR 40 as result processing fee, respectively. Schools failing to complete the registration within the specified time must pay an additional fee of INR 150 per student as a late fine.
The dissemination of Information regarding fees for class 11 lab-based subjects in several district schools is ongoing. However, nearly all schools in Kolkata have either completed the enrollment process or have been notified to do so within the specified time frame.
