President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday said that it must be made sure that women education gets translated into increased participation of workforce, mentioning as when women progresses, the whole nation will also walk towards progress.
Speaking at the 17th Convocation of Mizoram University, the President said that the varsity, that was established way back in the year 2001, is a well known University of the northeastern region which provides quality education.
The president even added that the University has taken some serious efforts in promoting academics which resulted in the remarkable progress in different fields.
The Mizoram University has signed MoUs with several universities and organisations at both national and international level for different academic and technological collaborations. The president even urged students to own the responsibility of educating the uneducated and spreading knowledge.
Throwing light on the rising number of girls being educated in the academic session of 2021-22, she added that the rising number of girls in higher education is appreciable, and it must but only rise at a higher rate.
The inauguration of two tribal Girls hostels at the Mizoram University and at Sairang is a bigger step for empowering female students by granting access to quality education to them.
