In a major development, the JIS Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of West Bengal to start the state’s first self-financed veterinary college ‘JIS College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences’ (JISCOVAS) at Mogra, in Hoogly district.
The MoU was signed between Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director of JIS Groupand Shri Vivek Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal, Department of Animal Resources at the Bengal Global Business Summit 2023.

The college will be established with an investment of Rs 200 to Rs 250 crores and signifies the collaborative spirit between the private sector and government for the greater benefit of professional education and infrastructure in the state.
Expressing his enthusiasm for this initiative, Taranjit Singh termed it as a significant milestone for the broader educational landscape in West Bengal.

JIS College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is not merely a structure; it is a testament to our commitment to nurturing future leaders in veterinary and animal sciences with advancing healthcare standards including One Health,” said Singh.

“The comprehensive curriculum of the Veterinary College will integrate cutting-edge technologies, practical training and research opportunities to ensure that students receive a comprehensive education at par with global standards,” he added.
Simarpreet Singh, Director of JIS Group and several dignitaries of the West Bengal government were present on the occasion of the signing ceremony.
