According to the revised schedule, students are expected to return to school on June 10. This is an adjustment from the earlier notice, which had set the end of the summer break for June 3.
Typically, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education schedules the summer vacation from May 9 to May 20. However, this year, due to an intense heatwave, the vacation was brought forward to run from April 22 to June 3. The extension of the break by seven days is to accommodate the presence of central forces for vote counting, ensuring the schools are ready for academic activities subsequent to their departure.
Despite the extended break for students, all teachers are required to report to their respective schools from June 3.
