The scholarships range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 per month, depending on the candidate’s chosen field of study.
The West Bengal government has launched a portal for the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2021 and also lowered the eligibility criteria. Students who score 65% or more in their Class X (Madhyamik) and Class XII (Higher Secondary) can apply for the scholarship now. The earlier cut-off was 75%.
“Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee decided to bring down the eligibility criteria for this scholarship to ensure that more students can be benefitted. Till now the State has disbursed Rs 7,62,858 to students under this scholarship scheme,” West Bengal education minister Bratya Basu said while launching the 2021 scholarship scheme portal.
Scholarship amount per month:
- Higher Secondary (XI and XII): Rs 1,000
- UG (Arts and Commerce): Rs 1,000
- UG (Science & professional courses): Rs 1,500
- PG (Arts & Commerce): Rs 2,000
- PG (Science and professional courses) Rs 2,500
- UG (Engineering / Medical/Honours): Rs 5,000
- Diploma (Polytechnic / GNM / Para-medical): Rs 1,500
